Things to do at the Beach

The week before our beach vacation Justin asked Brooks to make a list of all the things he wanted to do at the beach. This is what he came up with. We brought the list with us and have been checking things off as we do them. The next few posts consist of pictures of each thing. I didn't have my camera with me for a few of them, but hope to get the chance to do some of them again. (Especially eat ice cream, because those boys made messy work of a couple of ice cream cones)

Here a just a few cute pictures that don't necessarily follow the list.

Brooks and Daddy playing frisbee.

Hatcher insisted on helping Daddy carry the "fish cooler." Which by the way was pretty impressive and ridiculously cute if you ask me.

BUILD SANDCASTLES

This has proven to be Hatcher's favorite beach activity. He carries his buckets and shovels everywhere. However, he only builds one castle at a time and immediately smashes it with his foot, shovel, hand, or bottom :-)

GET DOUGHNUTS FOR BREAKFAST

We are staying near Thomas' Doughnuts, and twice we have gone for breakfast. The boys love picking out their doughnuts and eating outside.

PICK SEASHELLS FOR MOMMY

Brooks and Hatcher have found quite a collection of seashells and love bringing their finds to Mommy.

Hatcher was especially excited to bring me his first seashell.

CATCH CRABS ON THE BEACH

Brooks caught this crab in his net. He's only a little proud as you can tell.

He carried it around to show to all of the people sitting and playing around us :-)

CATCH A FISH

Daddy caught a Pompano on his first cast. Brooks helped him reel it in and was really excited. Hatcher was not so sure about that fish.

JUMP THE WAVES

It took Hatcher a day or so to warm up to the ocean, but now he loves to jump the waves as long as Mommy or Daddy is with him.

Brooks on the other hand went straight for the waves the first minute on the beach and would spend the whole day swimming and jumping the waves (despite a somewhat cool water temp).
