Things to do at the Beach

The week before our beach vacation Justin asked Brooks to make a list of all the things he wanted to do at the beach. This is what he came up with. We brought the list with us and have been checking things off as we do them. The next few posts consist of pictures of each thing. I didn't have my camera with me for a few of them, but hope to get the chance to do some of them again. (Especially eat ice cream, because those boys made messy work of a couple of ice cream cones)

Here a just a few cute pictures that don't necessarily follow the list.

Brooks and Daddy playing frisbee.

Hatcher insisted on helping Daddy carry the "fish cooler." Which by the way was pretty impressive and ridiculously cute if you ask me.

Things to do at the Beach

BUILD SANDCASTLES

This has proven to be Hatcher's favorite beach activity. He carries his buckets and shovels everywhere. However, he only builds one castle at a time and immediately smashes it with his foot, shovel, hand, or bottom :-)

GET DOUGHNUTS FOR BREAKFAST

We are staying near Thomas' Doughnuts, and twice we have gone for breakfast. The boys love picking out their doughnuts and eating outside.

Things to do at the Beach

PICK SEASHELLS FOR MOMMY

Brooks and Hatcher have found quite a collection of seashells and love bringing their finds to Mommy.

Hatcher was especially excited to bring me his first seashell.

CATCH CRABS ON THE BEACH

Brooks caught this crab in his net. He's only a little proud as you can tell.

He carried it around to show to all of the people sitting and playing around us :-)

Things to do at the Beach

CATCH A FISH

Daddy caught a Pompano on his first cast. Brooks helped him reel it in and was really excited. Hatcher was not so sure about that fish.

JUMP THE WAVES

It took Hatcher a day or so to warm up to the ocean, but now he loves to jump the waves as long as Mommy or Daddy is with him.

Brooks on the other hand went straight for the waves the first minute on the beach and would spend the whole day swimming and jumping the waves (despite a somewhat cool water temp).

Brooks on the Zipline

Well, Brooks now holds the record as the youngest person to do the zipline at Sharptop Cove. He is on the left and I (Mommy) am on the right. This was actually the second time he did it, but every time he hits the water he immediately says, "I wanna do it again!"

Happy Birthday Hatcher!

We celebrated Hatcher's 1st birthday at the Sharp Top pool with all of our assigned team and summer staff friends.

Hatcher was uncertain what to do with his cake at first.
He quickly caught on and devoured the entire piece.

Ahh, delicious!

How big is Hatcher?

SO BIG!

Gigi taught Hatcher this cute game. When you ask him how big he is he sticks his arms in the air when you say "so big." It is ridiculously cute!

More fun at Sharp Top

Brooks and his best buddy Trace playing in the rain.

Catching his first lightening bug

Sweet Hatcher, doesn't get to do a lot of the activities but he is still super cute :-)

Our first family photo in months. Yes, Hatcher is wearing a Jiaper.

Fun at Sharp Top Cove

Well, it's been about 10 months since I've blogged, but I figured assignment at Sharp Top would be a good place to restart. We have been doing lots of fun things. Brooks and Hatcher got to "ride a bull" up at Pioneer Camp. Brooks loved it, Hatcher not so much.

Brooks' favorite activity is the Big Slide that goes into the lake. He would do it all day if we would let him.

Brooks also attempted the Blob, but it was too hot for him to make it to the end. We were proud of him for giving it a try. He really wants to try the big zip line. If he gives it a try we will post pictures.

Happy Birthday Everyone!

We had multiple family birthdays in August and the boys wanted to wish them a happy birthday.

Hatcher's First Home Depot Project

Brooks and Hatcher ready to work on Saturday morning
Mommy and Brooks building a football stand

Hatcher decided to sit out this project in his carrier. Brooks worked extra hard for both of them.

Georgia Bulldogs!

To Brooks' delight, our good friend Zack showed up at our door the other night with his UGA football helmet on. Brooks immediately made a beeline for his helmet and put it on as well. The next 45 minutes consisted of lots of head butts and tackling. It was quite entertaining.
